Testicular and Pelvic Veins Ultrasound

A Testicular and Pelvic Veins Ultrasound is a scan that looks at the veins in your scrotum (around the testicles) and deep inside your pelvis. This test helps doctors check how well blood is flowing and look for problems such as enlarged veins, poor circulation, or varicoceles, which are swollen veins that can cause discomfort or fertility issues.

During the Testicular and Pelvic Veins Ultrasound, a sonographer uses a small handheld device on your scrotum and lower abdomen to create clear pictures of the veins. The scan is safe, painless, and does not use radiation. It shows the size of the veins, how blood moves through them, and whether there are signs of pelvic congestion or other circulation problems.

You may also hear this test called a testicular vein ultrasound, scrotal Doppler, pelvic vein ultrasound, or varicocele ultrasound, but they all refer to the same type of scan.
