Important information for referrers and patients:
As of the 1st August 2020, the Australian Government made changes to some of the MBS items for cardiac imaging services to support high-value care and ensure patients have access to the most appropriate tests for their individual symptoms and conditions. This will mean that patients will only receive testing when there is a clinical need, and eliminate unnecessary testing. This approach is aligned with the CVS ethos of outstanding patient care and appropriateness in testing.
The changes may affect patient eligibility for Medicare rebates, in relation to the type of referral and frequency in which General Practitioners can request specific investigations. Please email all CVS testing requests to adminteam@cvs.net.au prior to booking to help facilitate determining Medicare eligibility.
