Dr Sundar Veerappan is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist, dual-trained in both Paediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology.

His clinical expertise spans congenital heart disease from infancy through to adulthood, with a strong focus on cardiac imaging, structural heart disease, and transition care for adolescents with lifelong cardiac conditions. Dr Veerappan is known for his collaborative, patient-centred approach and remains committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Background & Training

Dr Veerappan completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, followed by advanced cardiology training in leading centres across Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. He undertook fellowships in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the Bristol Heart Institute and congenital cardiac imaging at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, as well as specialist paediatric cardiology training at Queensland Children’s Hospital.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatric Cardiology and has held consultant appointments across top-tier institutions including Starship Children’s Hospital (Auckland) and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. Dr Veerappan has an active research portfolio with numerous peer-reviewed publications and is regularly invited to present at national and international cardiology forums. He is also actively involved in education and training, contributing to curriculum development and mentoring junior clinicians.
