Dr Tuğba Kemaloğlu Öz

Dr Tuğba Kemaloğlu Öz’s approach to clinical practice is centred on patient-focused, evidence-based care, while also providing cutting-edge treatment options. She cares for a wide range of patients, from those with common conditions such as, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and coronary artery disease to individuals with rare and complex cardiovascular issues that require detailed assessment and close follow-up. In the field of valvular heart disease, she is particularly focused on offering new treatment options, including percutaneous valve repair and replacement procedures, and actively participate in the decisionmaking process to determine the most appropriate intervention for each patient.

Tuğba Kemaloğlu Öz graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Turkey, and completed her cardiology training at Siyami Ersek Hospital, Turkey’s largest cardiothoracic center. To further advance her expertise in 3D echocardiography and advanced cardiac imaging techniques, she worked as a research fellow at the University of Alabama, USA. She was awarded Associate Professorship in 2020 and has been a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) since 2018. Additionally, she attained FRACP status in 2024. She moved to Australia in 2023 and is currently working at Flinders University and the University of Notre Dame. She serves as President of the Global Society of Cardiology and is an active committee member of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) Membership and International Communities Committee. Dr. Kemaloğlu Öz provides echocardiography training internationally, delivering education in over 20 countries across Europe and Asia. She is also an editor for the International Journal of Echocardiography, as well as several other prestigious cardiology journals.

Her special interests include:

• Valvular heart disease, focusing on precise timing for surgical and percutaneous interventions.
• Detailed assessment and close follow-up of patients with heart failure and coronary artery disease.
• Providing cutting-edge, personalized treatment options based on evidence-based decision-making.
• Expertise in advanced echocardiography including 3D/4D transthoracic, transesophageal, and exercise stress echocardiography.
