Dr Rick Bond

Rick Bond is a dual trained British and Australian Vascular and General surgeon with nearly 30 years of medical experience. He started his training in the UK at the Royal Free Hospital in 1995 and became a specialist consultant in 2004. During this time he attained a PhD from Oxford University for research in carotid surgery outcomes. In 2005 he immigrated to Australia and became a citizen. He undertook the Australian vascular surgical exams and became a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as well as, the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain.

Currently, Rick holds the position of State Director for Vascular Surgery in WA. He is also the Head of Vascular Services at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Fremantle Hospital.

Rick specialises in all areas of vascular disease. He is experienced with both established open surgical techniques and with the newer areas of endovascular minimally invasive and laser venous ablation. He believes in the importance of maintaining good open surgical skills in addition to embracing and advancing endovascular techniques. His broad experience allows him and his team to provide unbiased advice and excellent treatment tailored to each individual patient.

Outside of medicine Rick is a keen sportsman and has represented his country in both triathlon and windsurfing.

  • Varicose Veins – All forms of treatment including, laser, open surgery, sclerotherapy and phlebectomy.
  • Renal Access Surgery – Fistula creation and CAPD insertion.
  • Hyperhidrosis – All forms of management including sympathectomy, botox, skin excision and iontophoresis.
